Day 1: Setting Up a Kitchen Windowsill
I set up 5 herb pots on my kitchen windowsill today. Here’s my setup, what I planted, and what I’m worried about.
My window faces south. Good light. But I’m worried about the radiator underneath drying out the soil.
What I Planted
- Basil (pressed into surface)
- Cilantro (1/4 inch)
- Parsley (1/4 inch, soaked overnight)
- Chives (1/4 inch)
- Dill (1/4 inch)
My Setup
- 5 small pots (8-inch, with drainage)
- Saucers underneath
- Potting mix
- Spray bottle
My Concerns
- The radiator might dry out the soil too fast
- The window might not be bright enough for basil
- Parsley is slow — will I lose patience?
What I Did Right
Soaked the parsley seeds overnight. Used bottom watering from the start.
