I’m growing my mom’s birthday gift. Flowers. 75 days. Her birthday is in 80 days.
The Plan
Plant zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, marigolds, and calendula. Harvest at day 75. Make a bouquet. Give it to her on day 80.
What I Planted Today
- Zinnias (direct sow, 1/4 inch)
- Cosmos (direct sow, 1/4 inch)
- Marigolds (direct sow, 1/4 inch)
Sunflowers and calendula go in next week.
Why This Matters
My mom has a garden. She’s grown everything. But she’s never had flowers grown for her.
What I’m Worried About
- Timing. Will they bloom by day 75?
- Weather. What if it’s a cold spring?
- Making an actual bouquet. I’ve never done that.
What I Did Right
Read the seed packets. Calculated backward from her birthday. Planted 5 days early for buffer.
