Day 75: My Mom Sent Me a Photo of Her Bouquet
Day 75. I cut 23 flowers and made my mom a bouquet. She sent me a photo of it on her kitchen table.
The Harvest
- 9 zinnias
- 5 cosmos
- 3 sunflowers
- 4 marigolds
- 2 calendula
I cut them in the morning, long stems, above leaf nodes.
Making the Bouquet
I watched a YouTube video. Then I just… tried.
Strip lower leaves. Arrange in a spiral. Tie with twine. Trim stems evenly.
It wasn’t perfect. But it looked like a bouquet.
Giving It to Her
She cried. Then she sent me a photo of it on her kitchen table that night. Then another the next morning.
What I Learned
- Zinnias are the best cut flower. Long stems, long vase life.
- Start sunflowers earlier. They bloomed late.
- Making a bouquet is easier than it looks.
What’s Next
She wants to grow her own next year. I’m sending her a kit.
