Day 60: I Ate a Tomato I Grew

60 days ago I planted seeds. Today I ate a cherry tomato I grew from scratch. Here’s the full harvest and what I learned.

The tomato plant has 6 ripe cherry tomatoes. I picked 2.

The Full Harvest

  • Radishes: 8 harvested over 3 weeks
  • Lettuce: 4 weeks of outer leaf harvest
  • Basil: 3 cups of leaves
  • Beans: 12 pods
  • Zucchini: 2 fruits
  • Cherry tomatoes: 6 so far, more coming

What I Learned

  1. Radishes are the best confidence-builder.
  2. Thinning really does work.
  3. Watering is the hardest part.
  4. I can grow food.

What I’d Do Differently

Started basil earlier. It took longer than I expected. And I’d plant more radishes — they were gone too fast.

What’s Next

The Small Space Kit. I want to try peppers and more tomatoes.
